l’Autre: A Function Between Two Infinities

Abstract

This work briefly solicits the function of Hilbert’s epsilon operator as an arbitrator between two dimensions that constitute the Autre field. Employing Charles Melman’s (1997) conception of a bifold structure, where the actually infinite and the potentially infinite may be meaningfully distinguished by their vectorial consistencies relative to this field, this paper invites attention to a litany of consequences therein implied, for both the subject and the social bond in the West.
